SAG Award Nominations Are IN...!

On December 10 the nominations for the 
21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards 
were announced in Los Angeles. 



"The Grand Budapest Hotel,"
was among those films 
nominated for 
Best Performance by an Ensemble 
in a Motion Picture. 




The HBO production 
"The Normal Heart" 
gathered two nominations for Best Actress (Julia Roberts) and Best Actor (Mark Ruffalo) 
in a Television Movie. 
Both films can be found in Merrick Library's DVD collection.


Also nominated were the following series that are in the Television section of the Merrick collection:

"Boardwalk Empire" - Best Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama, Best Actor (Steve Buscemi), Best Action by a Stunt Ensemble in a Drama

"Downton Abbey" - Best Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama, Best Actress (Maggie Smith)

"Game of Thrones" - Best Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama, Best Actor (Peter Dinklage), Best Action by a Stunt Ensemble in a Drama

"Homeland" - Best Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama, Best Actress (Claire Danes),
Best Action by a Stunt Ensemble in a Drama

"House of Cards" - Best Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama, Best Actress (Robin Wright)

"Nurse Jackie" - Best Actress in a Comedy Series (Edie Falco)

"Orange is the New Black" - Best Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, Best Actress (Uzo Aduba)

"Orphan Black" - Best Actress in a Drama (Tatiana Maslany)

"True Detective" - Best Actor in a Drama (Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey)

"Veep" - Best Actress by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, Best Actress (Julia Louis-Dreyfus)

The Screen Actors Guild Awards will be broadcast live on the TBS and TNT cable channels Sunday, January 25, at 8 p.m., with a TNT rebroadcast immediately following the first showing. Don't miss the Life Achievement Award segment as the Guild honors the one and only Miss Debbie Reynolds!
