Scott Sammis, his wife Mary Lou, and their three children, anxiously anticipated their next day's Kilimanjaro climb. Good-bye Mary Lou is a tribute to Scott's wife, a vivacious woman who was struck and killed in a deadly boulder
bombardment.
Scott Sammis is a lifelong resident of Huntington, New York. His roots extend twelve generations to John Sammis who arrived by ship from England in 1654. Scott has headed various non-profit charities and is now chairman of the Long Island YMCA Board. With his father, he has grown his family business for 25 years and sold it in 2007.
