On February 27 the 83rd annual Academy Awards were presented in Los Angeles. The following movies in Merrick Library's DVD collection were honored at the ceremony:
"Alice In Wonderland" - Best Art Direction, Best Costume Design
"Inception" - Best Cinematography, Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing, Best Visual Effects
"The Social Network" - Best Film Editing, Best Orginal Score, Best Adapted Screenplay (based on the book "The Accidental Billionaires" by Ben Mezrich, also available at Merrick Library)
"Toy Story 3" - Best Animated Feature Film, Best Original Song ("We Belong Together")
"The Wolfman" - Best Makeup
