Apple Guilty of E-Book Price Fixing
Have you been following this story? I have and it seems that Apple has been found guilty of colluding with book publishers to raise prices for e-books, according to a federal judge. This, in a decision that will affect how books are sold online.
"The Department of Justice accused the companies of banding together to keep ebooks above Amazon's rock-bottom discounts and chip away at its Kindle-fueled runaway lead in the ebook market. To do so, they relied on an agency model, which allowed publishers — not retailers — to set prices." Click here to read more about this decision here from Theverge.com.
Of course to avoid all this hoopla, you could come in to the Merrick Library and pick up your books for free!
We have hard-cover, paperback, e-books, audio books, large-type...you name it, we've got it.
