New DVDs out on Tuesday, May 5th...

"Against the Sun" - the incredible true World War Two story of how three survivors of a downed torpedo bomber survived storms, sharks and each other to travel 1000 miles to safety - stars Tom Felton ("In Secret"), Garret Dillahunt ("Looper") and Jake Abel ("Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief")

"Amira and Sam" - Martin Starr (TV's "Silicon Valley") portrays an Army veteran dealing with major life changes as his Iraqi immigrant sweetheart faces possible deportation

"Black or White" - Eliot (Kevin Costner) has always had a hand in raising his mixed-race granddaughter Eloise - now his late daughter-in law's family wants permanent custody of Eloise - also starring Octavia Spencer (TV's "Mom")

"Masterpiece Classics: Mr. Selfridge: Season Three" - as seen on PBS and based on a true story- Jeremy PIven returns as Harry Gordon Selfridge, department store magnate recovering from the loss of his wife and facing along with family and employees the challenges of England in the Twenties

"Miss Julie" - based on the classic play by August Strindberg - adapted to the screen and directed by Liv Ullmann - filmed in Northern Ireland - starring Jessica Chastain as the troubled aristocrat's daughter wishing to be seduced by her father's valet (Colin Farrell)

"Mr. Turner" - based on true events - the last quarter-century of J.M.W. Turner's life were anything but tranquil - the same could be said of his final paintings - directed by Mike Leigh ("Another Year") and starring Timothy Spall (Best Actor, Cannes Film Festival)

"Selma" - based on the stirring true story of three months in 1965 when Martin Luther King Jr. (David Oyelowo, "Interstellar") led the march to Montgomery, Alabama to secure voting rights which culminated in the signing of the 1965 Civil Rights Act - stellar supporting cast includes Carmen Ejogo, Tom Wilkinson, Giovanni Ribisi and Oprah Winfrey

"Spare Parts" - based on a true story - four Hispanic high schoolers with meager resources are building a robot to compete against MIT - what else was built would last a lifetime - starring George Lopez, Jamie Lee Curtis and Marisa Tomei

Playing Dead - from France - Jean, a 40-year-old unemployed actor, has hit rock bottom. Insufferably clueless and egotistical, his over-the-top "method" acting and high-maintenance personality have gotten him fired from countless jobs. At the unemployment office, his counselor sets him up with a rather odd job: helping the police reconstruct crime scenes by standing in for the dead victim.
